Building professionals—architects, engineers, inspectors—rely on quick access to code information on job sites. The existing app buried critical features and forced users to restart the app just to navigate back. We redesigned the experience around how people actually work.
The Solution
We redesigned the app with contextual search that adapts to the user's location—returning results from the current code book instead of global results. Persistent back navigation and breadcrumbs were added throughout, eliminating the frustration of restarting the app. Key features like offline downloads and concurrent access were elevated with prominent placement and onboarding tooltips. Biometric login reduced authentication friction, while a streamlined 3-screen onboarding flow guided new users effectively.
